Learn to get images like this with my new book: http://ift.tt/1zrPeXh I captured this image of a coyote pouncing on my way back from a nice lunch in Yellowstone National Park. I discovered him patrolling a meadow and decided he looked friendly enough for a shot or two. I made my approach and he didn’t seem to mind too much – I think he was far more concerned about the small noises coming from the grass. As I watched, he stood frozen, his gaze lazer-locked onto a patch of grass a few feet in front of him. This lasted for a about 10 seconds, and then he got a little bit of a wag to his body, much like you would see with a cat. That was my signal – I knew he was about to pounce. My finger was pressing on the shutter release, just a millimeter from tripping it. As he pounced, I pressed and this image was the result. Oh, and yes, he did get his lunch too. via 500px http://ift.tt/1yA12nm
