Winter Solitude by charlie16

Winter Solitude. I took a walk along the Provo River early this morning in a section where my son loves to cast for fat brown trout. I had doubts as I fumbled for my headlamp and the car thermometer read 11 degrees. As I walked near the river in the dark a soft glow began to build in the eastern sky, lifting my spirits. After a mile or so, I reached the location I wanted to photograph with a clear view of Mt. Timpanogos in the distance. The only sound was trickling water and the wingbeat of mallards as they flew low along the river. Nobody near, only winter solitude. I could hear in my mind the voices of my mother and father echoing in a faded memory of the many adventures we shared 40 years ago hunting ducks along the Snake River. And then the light took over. This is my first image of the new year. Hope you enjoy it. Wasatch County, Utah. January 4, 2015. Custom prints are available by contacting Photos@CharlieLansche.com via 500px http://ift.tt/1xPdvX9
