Into Darkness The last light over Walleman Falls in far North Queensland. This waterfall is the largest single drop fall in the country, coming in at 268m. We arrived a day after some heavy rain and the falls were absolutely roaring. My partner and I had the entire place to ourselves for hours and we stuck around long after sunset to take in the clear night skies that are perhaps the greatest feature of interior Australia. The drive home was a bit harrowing as we needed to stop every minute or so for either a nocturnal mammal or a big snake to finish crossing the road (fortunately not at the same time). This was made all the more challenging by the failure of our high beams for some reason. Overall it made for an incredible end to a weekend away in the North. The image itself is gigantic as it was stitched from 15 frames using the Novoflex slim panorama system. Trying to get as much practice with this system before taking the whole kit away to Norway in just over a month. Camera: Canon EOS 6D Lens: Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ISO 100 FL: 35mm Av: f/5 Tv: 1/6s, 2.5s, 5s per frame Filters: No HDR: Manually blended sky into foreground with luminosity masks Panorama: Yes, this image is a multirow pano with 3 rows and 5 vertical frames per row. via 500px http://ift.tt/1BW3gzb
