Delighted to say that this image won the first position in this year's HIPA awards in Dubai, in 'Life in Colour' category. Details - http://ift.tt/1N0B1SS A monk’s maroon robe is often deemed as a symbol of asceticism and a sober life devoid of zest. But these young monks in richly coloured robes manifest the true essence of practice, about living in the moment with fullest exuberance and oblivious to everything else, much unlike the greyness of the walls behind them. This photograph was made in Ki Gompa, a monastery of Tibetan Buddhist traditions in the Indian Himalayas, where I was staying and documenting the way of life of the monks. Every evening, young monks were allowed a time off and gathered at an open ground to play. One such evening, these boys began giggling and chasing each other, some of them climbing over a platform about 5 feet high, when this image was made. via 500px http://ift.tt/1OkQhNV
