Snowy Unadalur valley by DagurJonsson

I went on a long walk yesterday in the area around our summer house here in Skagafjörður. It was rather cold but at the same time peaceful and beautiful and the light was wonderful. This picture shows the snowy Unadalur valley and mount Ennishnjúkur. Unadalur valley The valley is situated in the eastern part of Skagafjördur in northwest of Iceland and lies to the east from town of Hofsos. The valley is approximately 20 kilometers (16 miles) and at the end of the valley lies the glacier Unadalsjökull. Mt. Ennishnjújur The mountain estimate terrain elevation above seal level is 708 meters and it stands high above the surrounding area with small summit area, steep slopes and local relief of 300m or more. The mountain is easily seen from the nearby village of Hofsos. If you like my work you can follow me on Facebook here.
