17,000 feet high in the Khumbu Himalaya. For some reason, most trekkers to Everest Base Camp stay on the trail and rarely venture into the surrounding wilderness. I decided to do some exploring and found this spectacular alpine lake with a reflection of Ama Dablam. Clouds obscured the view in the afternoon but parted just after sunset to reveal some of the most beautiful twilight colors I've ever witnessed.
