Burning clouds over Reykjavik by DagurJonsson

We had a strange day in the sky last week. Due to a volcanic mist hovering over Reykjavik the clouds looked like they were burning. At a time it was a very strong colorful scenery with the clouds in purple. After work I got some shots at Ægissíða bay but then the color had faded a bit but still a very interesting moody feeling in the air. This pollution is similar to the one that killed many Icelanders in the Laki eruption in the year 1783. The gas pollution is though considerably less then it was in 1783 and we are also much further away from the volcano. We are therefore totally safe here in Reykjavik but it is though very dangerous to go near the volcano. Please view it also on black background!
