BEHIND THE SCENES: "Starshine" - Auensee - Augsburger Land Yesterday I was finally blessed with perfect conditions for a night shot at Lake Auensee. It was ice cold (-14 °C), windless, snowy, fog appeared on the lake, the sky was brilliant starry and I had the halfmoon in my back. As you can see, six conditions that had to meet in order to catch this scene. Anything but a snapshot ;-). I chose this composition, since the framing apparently supports the view out of the forest. Only the icy cold made handling the gear became a bit sluggish. Here you can see my settings: Nikon D800E - Nikkor 14-24mm @ 14mm - RAW File - ISO 1000 - t: 30 seconds - f: 3,2 - 0,9 gradient ND Formatt Hitech Filter In Photoshop I mainly somewhat reduced the vignette and attracted the brightness in the darker midtones. At the end I sharpened the photo for web to really bring out the stars. Tadaaaa :-)... Prints and licensing available. Facebook Fan Site www.stefan-hefele.de via 500px http://500px.com/photo/93977937
