Ice and Fire by CNaene

Frozen Abraham lake in the morning at sunrise. For me, the stacks of ice bubbles here are very artistic and interesting. However, to stay still on the tiled ice was quite hard because it was so slippery! Anyways, that morning was one of the most memorable experience of my life because it was the coldest morning ever! frozen river by RudolfMoerkl

this winter seems to turn out pretty unusual. Not too cold, not too much snow...... Like last summer was not that much "summer-like" Well, still a few more weeks to go........we´ll see ;) This shot was taken last Sunday, during a walk in the Danube Au region. best on dark background :) via 500px http://ift.tt/1BVErD4

Painted White by alexnoriega

A unique view of Oregon's Painted Hills, under a pristine coat of snow, on an unseasonably cold -10°F November morning. Looks best on black, otherwise the snow looks dim compared to the white background of 500px. I've been selected as this month's featured photographer at Aperture Academy. Winterfall by crazyaboutnature

I chose a faster shutter speed for this shot as opposed to milky water, to add the the surrounding details and textures. Pretty cool formations up and down the gorge the few days this was taken around. via 500px http://ift.tt/1zPUeks

Shine by MAPhoto

This winter version of one of Alaska's most impressive ice caves (it goes on for more than 1 mile) really brings the icy elements together more than any other I have done. My heli pilot was equally impressed, standing alone in the entrance here. This is 3 shots at f/16 for DOF blended about 10cm off the ice I think it looks better on black and I do notice compression is hurting the resolution just a little. Appreciate any thoughts you may have! via 500px http://ift.tt/1ybJ6wa

Winter Wonderland II by CHoiberg

Read the full story around this shot on my blog After close to a month with nothing but grey and black days in Kongsberg, the sun decided to show itself for half a day! As soon as I saw the sun, I literally ran up to get my camera gear, and flew up to the mountains as fast as I could. Say hi to me on Facebook Drop a heart on Instagram via 500px http://ift.tt/1uYjzcR
